Under the Water with Watercolor 
Students discovered the undersea world and created worlds of their own while learning the fundamentals of drawing and watercolor.




August 2010
Howard Pyle's Pirates:  A High Sea Adventure

With images of the great artist Howard Pyle, navigating the waters, students explored the world of pirates with beginning drawing lessons, journaling, map making and the designing of a compass rose to direct ones path to creativity.




September 2010

Flying into Fall

Using paper, paint and string, students created owls, with wings spread wide, to soar the Autumn skies.

Painting in the Dark; for those who enjoy the lighter side of life!

Let’s Meet in a Bird’s Nest! Taking lessons from fascinating and resourceful home-building birds from all over the world students built their own unique nests for their stuffed and painted paper bird to  live.

Lessons in book illustration using the popular C.S. Lewis series for  an enchanted winter holiday.

August 2011 Paper Mache' Sculpting for Children:  Dovregubbens
Creatures of the Mountain s who's motto is:  BE YOURSELF!


Fact: A Dovregubben  is a character in Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt from 1867 , a dramatic poem that is inspired by Norwegian folk literature . Mountain King is in the 2nd action in Peer Gynt portrayed as a mighty wizard king and head of a family who lives with his court of underground creatures in "The Mountain King Hall" in the " Ronde ".  

   The most famous quote from the Mountain King's mouth in Peer Gynt is "troll be yourself."
